Spiritual growth plays an important part in our walk with God and so it would not be possible to stress how important hymns and spiritual songs play a part in our spiritual growth. From one of our most familiar songs “O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.” (Joseph Serven). Not praying or not praying enough is one of the many ways by which we can easily forfeit the Peace of God. Here are other ways we can forfeit the Peace of God:
  • Worrying too much
  • Resenting God’s ways
  • Doubting God
  • Carrying your own cares
  • Refusing to accept what God gives us

STEPS TO NOT FORFEIT YOUR PEACE:

“Don’t worry about anything.”(Philippians 4:6)
“Cast all your cares on Him for you are in His charge.” (1Peter 5:7)
“Let the Peace of Christ rule in your hearts.” (Colossians 3:15)
“Peace is my parting gift to you, my own Peace, such as the world cannot give.” (John 14:27)
“In everything make your request known to God in prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. Then the Peace of God… will guard your hearts.” (Philippians 4:6-7)
